Yes. Christian Mimes. Sound strange?
This a common conversation for those of us in ACTION. You’re talking to a friend and for some reason you mention that you’re in a drama group…
Friend: Oh really? What do you do?
ACTIONite: Yeah… I’m a mime.
Friend: Are you serious? Like… you walk around with face paint and everything?
ACTIONite: Yes. But it’s different than you think…
Friend: Wait, can you do the box? Be stuck in a box!! Show me what you can do!
As you can see, this can quickly become an awkward situation for those of us who aren’t so comfortable with solo performances. But that isn’t the point.
We aren’t clowns fooling around in a parade. ACTION is a unique ministry using music, drama, dance, and sign language to share what we are most passionate about- Christ’s love for you and me! Miming just so happens to be a fresh new way to demonstrate the message we have to share.
